Anyway, it is now time for Follow Friday (ou, en le français, « Le suivre vendredi » )! The chosen one this week is a sassy lass from NYC who, when not telling us to “wear what we want,” makes all sorts of high end jewelry (and a few swear rings on the side) in only the best materials.

Wendy and I first met each other through Twitter. I think it was because we both loved Garance Doré (who will be featured here soon, no worries), maybe had a few other interests in common, and began to follow each other.
As I said earlier, Brandes is an independent fashion blogger from NYC who also designs and sells her own line of jewelry, Wendy Brandes Jewelry. The blog was started to help promote her wares originally, but eventually also included her thoughts on everything from Lady Gaga, her mantra (“wear what you want“) and Paul McCartney. Along with her husband–known just as MrB on her blog–Brandes also is involved in causes such as The Committee to Protect Journalists, an organization devoted to protecting the freedoms of journalists worldwide so that they may perform their duty to society and not be silenced (or worse) in the process.

Why should you follow Wendy Brandes? If you love a feisty woman who wants you to “wear what you want,” shares her opinions openly, and is a fine jewelry designer, well as the song says, “everyone knows it’s Wendy!”
Why should you not follow Wendy Brandes? If swear rings aren’t your thing or if you prefer your blogs a little more “quiet,” there are “calmer” blogs elsewhere to be read.

I had to feature her as one of my first LSVs when I began the feature nearly a year ago. You should check yours out sometime, btw, if you haven’t done so; I think Megan may have. I’m not sure.
